Rules
Northern Virginia Table Tennis Club (NVTTC)
- Playing rotation is determined by simply waiting in one of the rooms.
- Players that leave the room lose their position in line unless they inform the remaining
players in the room that they will return.
- Players that leave the room to play in a different room automatically forfeit their position
in the previous room.
- Players should follow the “two matches maximum” rule rather than the “winner
stays” rule, except in a room or rooms designated by the Executive Committee as “winner
stays”.
- In “two matches maximum” rooms, each player is entitled to play two “best of
three” matches.
- In “winner stays” rooms, matches are “best of five”. Losing players
have to leave the table even if the winner decides to leave.
- All players have full access to all the tables and can play with any other member regardless
of skill level – patience and help for lower skilled players is encouraged.
- In “two matches maximum” rooms, two players may substitute 10 minutes of practice for
their game time.
- In “winner stays” rooms, two players may substitute 15 minutes of practice for
their game time.
